1 h art gives artists and art related practitioners the possibility to create an hour of contemporary art for the general public at no cost.

Starting with a website (visible online on July), users will be able to select a country page inside of which the names, curators etc. who have accepted to do a project will be visible.

1 h art is looking for:

artists, curators, critics, gallerists, collectors, restorers, editors to offer an hour of contemporary art at a place of residence, which would also be documented with photos, video, or audio.

The participants can offer: performance, video art, lectures, portfoglio presentations, installations, wall paintings, workshops etc.

Participants will be invited to intervene in private homes, offices, associations… according to the artists.

The project will begin in July 2009 and will run for one full year. It will also be possible to repeat the format during art fairs, biennales, forums, and meetings connected with contemporary art. Dates will be organized by the participants and the public via email.
